Fire Destroys Three Businesses

Associated Press

Fire Tuesday destroyed a downtown building that housed three businesses but no one was injured.

The fire was reported about 1:30 p.m. in the one-story, wood-frame building on Wishkah Street, Fire Chief Steve Mitchell said.

Firefighters from five departments responded, he said.

The cause of the fire was not immediately determined, nor was a dollar damage estimate available.

The building housed two autobody shops and a construction office. Six vehicles, a tow truck and several motorcycles were lost in the fire.

Gas tanks and propane tanks exploded and fed the flames.
