Wife Killer’s Appeal Denied

The Idaho Court of Appeals has turned down an appeal from a Laotian refugee who killed his wife at Pocatello after she took up with another woman.

The court on Wednesday ruled unanimously against the appeal from Oune Sengthavisouk. He was sentenced to 12 to 27 years in prison for second-degree murder in the shooting death of his wife. Up to five years additional was added because he used a firearm.

Sengthavisouk argued that he should have been granted a psychological evaluation by a Portland psychiatrist who works with refugees from southeast Asia.
