Foreman, Schulz Likely To Resolve Dispute In Rematch

Compiled From Wire Services

George Foreman’s next bout likely will be a rematch with Axel Schulz in Germany in September.

Bob Arum, the promoter for the heavyweight champion, said Thursday such a fight could mean a $25 million to $30 million payday for Foreman.

The 46-year-old champion earned $10 million in his disputed majority decision over Schulz. Foreman, his eye swollen shut, barely held off the German in retaining his IBF title.

Foreman is to be honored as the fighter of the year at the annual Boxing Writers Association of America dinner tonight, and Arum plans on meeting with the champion before the weekend.
