Patricia Greer Selected Secretary Of The Year

Patricia Greer was selected as the 1995 Secretary of the Year. She was nominated by the Spokane Chapter of Professional Secretaries International for her expertise as a secretary and her commitment as an office professional. She is employed as a senior confidential secretary/sales support representative at SeaFirst Bankcard Services. The selection was made by the business students at Spokane Community College.

Loren Achziger and Rod Knodel, representing Action First Aid, have won a seven-day cruise for being top salespeople. They sell first aid and safety products.

Top honors at the 1995 National Postsecondary Agricultural Student Conference were won by Spokane Community College students and their adviser, Mike McMackin. McMackin was named the National Outstanding Adviser for 1995 at the competition held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in March. He and each student received a plaque.

Agriculture Machinery Service Technicians Team Contest: first place, Mike Allan, Ephrata, and Steve Crouse, Washtucna.

Floriculture Job Interview Contest: first place, Shawna Romo, Coulee City, Wash.

Forestry and Natural Resources Job Interview Contest: second place, John Tillison, Airway Heights.

Members of the Agricultural Machinery Service Technicians Team also received a $100 award for representing the state and a $500 award for winning the national championship. In addition, the John Deere Foundation, which sponsored the event, gave SCC $1,000 for equipment purchase. Other students competing in the national event included: LeMarr Cook, Cheney, and Kris Romo, Coulee City.

Marlene Morrow, Spokane district manager for Entertainment Publications, has been named 1995 Supplier of the Year by the Restaurant Association of the State of Washington.

Annette Appel, a 1987 graduate of Davenport High School, Davenport, Wash., has been awarded a master of science degree in human nutrition from Washington State University. She is the daughter of Joyce and Anthony Appel, Davenport.

Erin Bennett, Spokane, has been named to the dean’s list for winter quarter at Eastern Oregon State College.
