Two Arrested On Drug Charges In Spokane Valley Motel Raid

From Staff Reports

A sheriff’s SWAT Team and drug investigators raided two East Sprague motel rooms in the Spokane Valley on Thursday and arrested two people on crack cocaine possession charges.

Another two men and a woman were being questioned late Thursday at the Maple Tree Motel & RV, 4824 E. Sprague, said Sheriff’s Lt. David Wiyrick.

Paul A. Gillon, 37, Tri-Cities, and Robin M. Davis, 27, Everett, were arrested about 9:15 p.m. after deputies searched Room 11 and found crack cocaine and $2,000 in cash, Wiyrick said.

Investigators forced open Room 16, he said. Late Thursday, they still were searching that room and questioning three people.

Calling out the SWAT Team for such a drug raid was an unusual step, Wiyrick said. Investigators also called for a drug-sniffing dog.

The SWAT Team was called because investigators got information that a possibly violent gang member was staying at the motel, authorities said.

Kim Gilead began staying at the motel’s RV park last week and said there were a lot of people going in and out. “There’s a lot of traffic,” she said.
