Becker, Ivanisevic Roll

Boris Becker and Goran Ivanisevic won on clay to advance to a semifinal matchup at the Monte Carlo Open in Monaco.

Becker, seeded second, continued his strong play with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Richard Krajicek. Both were serving at more than 125 mph.

Ivanisevic survived an outburst of temper to beat Gilbert Schaller of Austria 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 7-5. Ivanisevic, the No. 4 seed, blew a 5-2 lead in the third set.

Thomas Muster ousted David Wheaton 6-4, 6-4 for his 20th consecutive win on clay, and Italian Andrea Gaudenzi beat fifth-seeded Sergi Bruguera 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.
