Scott Hoch fired an 8-under-par 64 for a two-shot lead after two rounds of the Houston Open at The Woodlands, Texas. Hoch had six birdies and an eagle in getting to 132, 12-under for two rounds over the Tournament Players Course.
Willie Wood, who’s been playing on the Nike tour this year after losing his PGA Tour card, was two shots back after a second-round 66.
Pullman’s Kirk Triplett shot a secondround 66 and is tied for 10th at 139.
Jim Colbert, taking advantage of conditions on a course he knows well, didn’t miss a green in shooting a 7-underpar 65 to take a one-shot lead over defending champ Ray Floyd and two others in the Las Vegas Senior Classic.
Colbert, a Las Vegas resident, had eight birdies and one bogey on the Tournament Players Club course at Summerlin.
At Daytona Beach, Fla., Kris Tschetter, one of three who shared the opening-round lead, shot a 5-under-par 67 to pull two shots clear of the field in the $1.2 million Sprint Championships.
Michelle McGann tied the course record with a 65 and is closest to Tschetter’s 36-hole score of 11-under 133.
