Samaritan Cut By Woman’s Attacker
A Spokane man who tried to stop a woman from being beaten was stabbed with a broken bottle early Saturday.
The victim was treated at Deaconess Hospital and Medical Center for cuts to his right arm.
Doctors who stitched his arm said he might need plastic surgery for the wounds, said police spokesman Dick Cottam.
The man told police he and some friends were driving by the 700 block of West Broadway about 12:15 a.m. when he saw a man attacking a woman. He left the car and walked up to the attacker who slashed him with the bottle, Cottam said.
Several witnesses confirmed the victim’s account.
The attacker was described as a black male, about 18 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 160 pounds. He was wearing a black sweatshirt and blue sweat pants.
The woman was not identified.
