Seattle To Offer Campaign Info On The Internet Software Would Make Reports Accessible On Public Access Network And On World Wide Web

Say you want to know the top 10 contributors to a candidate’s political campaign.

Just log onto the Internet, type in your request and boom, there they are.

That’s the plan, at least, under a test being planned in Seattle for Disclose, a computer program developed by SDR Technologies Inc. of Agoura Hills, Calif.

Under the agreement with city officials, summary information on campaigns with at least $5,000 in receipts will be available on the city’s public access network as well as the Internet World Wide Web site.

Under the plan, citizens can use their computers to download software developed by SDR to sort through campaign finance reports for top contributors and other specialized information.

San Francisco has a similar agreement with SDR, but Seattle probably will be the first to have a presence on the Web with electronic filing information supplemented by browser tools, company official Glenn Luxemberg said.
