Washington State Women Sweep To Victory At Oregon State Regatta
The Washington State women’s crew team captured all six events at the Oregon State Regatta on Vancouver Lake Saturday.
The Cougar women, currently ranked second in the Pacific-10 Conference varsity eight, novice eight and junior varsity eight, had little trouble distancing themselves from the Oregon State, Gonzaga and USC boats.
Washington State will compete next in the Opening Day Regatta on May 6.
The regatta will take place on Montlake Cut in Seattle.
Tennis
Gonzaga University was defeated 9-0 by St. Mary’s during the second day of the West Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Championships at the University of San Diego.
Six singles and three doubles matches were decided in straight sets, GU (2-20) winning just five games during the match.
The eighth-seeded Bulldogs play No. 7 San Francisco (9-8) today at 9 a.m. as the tournament concludes.
The championship match features top-seeded Pepperdine (13-9), the winner of seven straight WCC titles, against second-seed San Diego (16-6), runner-up in each of those seven tournaments.
