Youth Attacked, His Bicycle Taken

A 16-year-old boy was attacked by a group of older teenagers who stole his bicycle at Liberty Park late Sunday, police said.

The boy was treated at Sacred Heart Medical Center for scrapes and bruises on his face and neck early Monday.

The victim told police that several of the 10 to 15 older teens who confronted him - one of them a girl - punched and kicked him shortly before midnight Sunday.

He ran away, leaving his bicycle behind, according to police. When he returned, the bicycle was gone.

The victim couldn’t provide detailed descriptions of any of the attackers, except to say that most of them were 18- to 19-year-old black men, police said.
