Reynolds Accuser Agrees To Testify

Compiled From Wire Services

After eight days in jail for refusing to testify, the one-time accuser of U.S. Rep. Mel Reynolds finally agreed Friday to answer questions at his sex-abuse trial.

But since the day’s court session ended before 19-year-old Beverly Heard could take the stand, she must stay behind bars at least until Monday, when she is expected to testify.

Prosecutors will have to wait to find out whether their key witness will go back to the original story she recanted earlier this year - that she had sex with Reynolds when she was underage.
