Children Among Dead From Kurds’ Rockets

Kurdish rockets killed eight people, including four children, in an attack on a village in southeastern Turkey, the Anatolia news agency reported Saturday.

The Friday night attack on Akbez village also injured four people. Separatist rebels have attacked villages whose inhabitants they suspect of collaborating with Turkish security forces.

Turkish soldiers killed nine Kurdish guerrillas Saturday in two separate clashes in southeastern Turkey, Anatolia reported.

More than 16,000 people have died since Kurdish rebels began fighting for autonomy in southeastern Turkey in 1984.
