Awards Received For 1995 Parade Of Homes

Wendall Olson of Viking Construction was presented a special award for using most members of the North Idaho Building Contractors Association for the 1995 Parade of Homes competition.

Other award winners were: Crescent Homes for Best Master Bedroom and Best Kitchen; Veranda for Best Interior Design and Craftsmanship, Best Interior Design and Appeal, and Best Landscaping and Exterior Appeal.

Copper Basin Construction for Best Master Bedroom, Best Kitchen, Best Interior Design and Craftsmanship, Best Interior Design and Appeal, and Best Landscaping and Exterior Appeal.

Appreciation Awards were presented to Bob and Connie Coles, owners of The Glen Garry Estate, and their builders, Kim Riley and Greg Farhat of Riley and Ritter Construction Co., Ltd., for their $1.5 million mansion. Their home was not included in the Parade of Homes judging.

Special Recognition Awards were given to the following companies for their contributions to the home show: All Seasons Landscaping, Frick’s Fine Furniture, Koerner Furniture, Cabbage Rose, Red Rooster, Riverview Landscape Co., Nielsen’s Floor to Walls, Karen L. Romberg, W.G. Woodworks, and Huntwood Industries and Home Innovations.

The Railroad Park in Clark Fork was revitalized over the Fourth of July weekend as an Eagle Scout service project organized by Todd Bonner and scoutmaster Art Ratcliff.

Donations were made by the following people and businesses:

Vinson Lumber, City of Clark Fork, U-DO-IT Rental, Co-Op Gas and Supply, Clark Cedar, Evergreen Supply, Trader’s Building Supply, Art and Della Ratcliff, Larry and Ellen Bonner, and Merwin’s Hardware.

Lois and Kaye Bonner, Dwight and Kelly Alplanalp, Ambrose Martinosky, Dan and Cheryl Beers, Jim Beers, Blaine Harvey, Jean Nelson and Columbia Paint.

Also, members of the Clark Fork Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints volunteered their labor.

John Harrison, City of Hayden Lake councilman, was presented with the Harold Hurst Award at the Association of Idaho Cities’ annual awards banquet.

This award is given annually to a city official who has demonstrated exemplary performance within city government and has contributed to the accomplishments of the Association of Idaho Cities.

Harrison has been a councilman since the town incorporated in 1947.
