Rockford Grain Sells For $1.9 Million

From Staff And Wire Reports

One year after announcing the sale, Cenex Supply & Marketing Inc. has paid about $2 million for the assets of Rockford Grain Growers Inc. south of Spokane, county real estate records show.

Rockford Grain, one of the largest farm supply companies in Spokane County, sold its elevators and fertilizer and chemical business on July 20. Four of the company’s grain elevators are located near Peone Prairie, Spangle, Mount Hope and Rockford.

Cenex paid $1.969 million for those four grain elevators and other businesses. The price was 44 percent below the county’s assessed valuation of $3.5 million.

However, the price does not include the sale of Rockford Grain elevators in Latah, Freeman and Worley, Idaho, nor the company’s personal property such as computers, desks and forklifts.

Those transactions will be recorded with the county later.
