United Security Doubles Earnings

From Staff And Wire Reports

United Security Bancorporation reported earnings of $1.2 million, or 50 cents per share, in the second quarter ended June 30.

That compares with earnings of $529,000, or 35 cents per share, in the same quarter a year ago.

Net income also nearly doubled in the first six months of 1995, climbing to $1.8 million, or 85 cents per share, compared with $994,000, or 68 cents per share, during the first half of 1994.

The 1995 income includes a onetime gain of $651,000 from the net life insurance proceeds United Security received following the death of key employee Joan Goldberg. She was executive vice president and chief financial officer of United Security Bank, the larger of the company’s two banking subsidiaries.

United Security Bancorporation is the parent of United Security Bank, Spokane, and Home Security Bank, Sunnyside, Wash.
