Author’s Son Injured

The son of best-selling author Dominick Dunne was recovering Friday in a hospital after a 25-foot fall from a rugged canyon trail led to his disappearance for nearly a week.

Alex Dunne, 38, was expected to stay overnight for observation and X-rays. He hiked down a rugged mountain path late Thursday to the car he’d left at a trailhead Aug. 5.
