Fbi Nabs Reputed Crime Family Head
Reputed crime family leader “Cadillac Frank” was arrested after almost two years on the lam.
Francis P. Salemme, 61, was surrounded by police and FBI agents just before midnight as he slept in a house where he and his wife were living, authorities said Saturday. He offered no resistance.
Salemme, reputed head of the Patriarca crime family, faces racketeering, extortion and money laundering charges. He was scheduled to be in court Monday before a federal magistrate in Fort Lauderdale.
Salemme evaded capture for almost two years, even skipping the funeral of his son, Francis Salemme Jr. He was arrested with the help of tips from viewers who recognized him from the TV show “America’s Most Wanted,” the FBI said.
