Internationally Known Scholar Dies
Miranda Hsu-Yung Pao, a University of Michigan professor of information and library studies who was known internationally for her work in information retrieval systems, died Thursday. She was 59.
The Chinese-born Pao came to the United States in 1956 to study. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in piano performance and music literature at the Juilliard School in New York, as well as master’s and doctorate degrees in library and information science at Case Western Reserve University.
