Hewlett-Packard Sees Strong Earnings

Hewlett-Packard Co.’s fiscal third-quarter, per-share earnings are expected to rise almost 34 percent amid an increase in sales of printers and computers, analysts said.

Revenue from sales of personal computers, workstations, large computer systems and printers will rise as much as 25 percent from the year-ago period, analysts said. Palo Alto, Calif.-based Hewlett-Packard on Wednesday is expected to report revenue of as much as $7.57 billion for the quarter ended July 31, analysts said.

“Their printer business is healthier than some people think it is,” said Salomon Brothers Inc. analyst John Jones.
