Elise I. Wright Spokane

Elise I. (Seagrave) Wright, Spokane, is 100 years old today. Born Aug. 16, 1895, in Denison, Iowa, Mrs. Wright has been an Eastern Washington resident for 94 years. She has lived at Lilac Plaza the past 23 years.

She married F. Earl Wright in 1921. He died in 1956.

Mrs. Wright taught piano from 1911 to 1921 and began to play the piano at church when she was 13. She served as the church pianist and organist from 1950 to 1972, and even filled in as organist when she was 90.

She is the mother of twins Harold Wright, San Jose, Calif., and Dorothy Damrell, Spokane, and the late Helen Risley.

She has six grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren and two greatgreat-grand children.

When asked to what she attributes her longevity, she replied, “Good genes, determination, a good clean life and faith in God.”
