Fcc Approves Sale Of Rural Phone Service

The Federal Communications Commission has approved the sale of 26 US West Communications rural telephone service areas to PTI Communications, a telecommunications firm with operations in 12 states from Wisconsin to Alaska, including Washington.

Approximately 18,000 customers in 26 rural service areas are impacted by the sale.

Service areas involved in the sale are: Almira, Ashford, Cathlamet, Coulee City, Curtis, Edwall-Tyler, Eureka, Harrington, Humptulips, Lake Quinault, Lind, Nespelem, Ocosta, Odessa, Pacific Beach, Pe Ell, Raymond- Lebam, Ritzville-Benge, Royal City, South Bend, Sprague, Starbuck, Vader, Wilbur, Wilson Creek and Yacolt.
