Ibm Lowers Prices On 40 Computers

IBM on Thursday cut the prices of 40 desktop computers sold to business by an average of 16 percent.

The cuts were announced a day after Compaq Computer Corp. reduced prices on similar models by an average of 18 percent.

The deepest price cut by IBM was 26 percent to a model with 120 MHz Pentium chip and 1 gigabyte hard drive.
