Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrests
Spokane County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man and woman on drug charges following a traffic stop Monday in the Spokane Valley.
Roy Picou, 20, was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Chastity King, 19, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
Picou, whose license deputies said was suspended, was driving the car when the two were stopped at the corner of Sprague and Park.
When deputies searched Picou, they found a container of methamphetamines in his pocket, said Sheriff’s Department spokesman Lt. David Wiyrick.
Deputies said they also found a handgun, money and methamphetamines on the floor on the passenger’s side of the car.
Picou was also wanted on three outstanding warrants.
Both said they were transients and were taken to the county jail.
Woman arrested after chase
A woman was charged with attempting to elude a police vehicle after deputies said she led them on a high-speed chase through the Valley early Sunday.
Speeds reached 65 miles per hour along 25-mile-per-hour streets before Angela Walsh drove her car into a fence marking a dead end at 5100 E. Railroad, deputies said.
