Osteopath Accused Of Illegal Prescriptions

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Burien osteopath whose license was revoked in April has been arrested for investigation of distributing drugs without a license, King County police said.

Dr. Vernon Clausing’s license had been revoked by the state Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery for inappropriately prescribing and overprescribing medications. The board also fined him $25,000.

Clausing said then that some patients had abused pain-relieving and muscle-relaxing drugs despite his instructions. He said the state fabricated the allegations.

In court Friday, he said he had not been practicing medicine or distributing drugs.
