Bomb Victims’ Mom Has Tubes Untied

Compiled From Wire Services

A young mother whose two little boys were killed in the Oklahoma City bombing said Friday she has high hopes for starting a new family after a successful operation to reverse her tubal ligation.

Edye Smith appeared in a wheelchair at a hospital news conference the day after her 3-1/2-hour surgery. The 23-year-old said she was “awfully sore” from the surgery but ecstatic at the prospect of more children.

She had her fallopian tubes tied two years ago because she planned to have only two children - Chase, who was 3 when he died in April’s federal building bombing, and Colton, who was 2. They were in the day care center.
