Pasco Teen Dies In Hiking Fall

An 18-year-old Pasco man hiking northeast of the pass fell over a cliff and was killed Friday afternoon after he left the trail looking for a shortcut, police said.

David Larsen died of massive head injuries from the 800-foot fall, said Sgt. Fred Slyfield of the Kittitas County Sheriff’s office.

He had been camping and hiking with a Mormon church group from the Pasco area.
