2 Officers Killed After Cruisers Collide

Compiled From Wire Services

Two police cars collided during a chase Saturday, killing two officers, and injuring another officer and a police trainee.

The two officers who were killed were pursuing a suspect’s vehicle when they collided with the other police car at an intersection on the city’s west side.

Police Chief Isaiah McKinnon said it was not clear whether the other police car was also involved in the chase. However, a witness said both cars had on their flashing lights and sirens.

The car the officers were pursuing was found near the crash site.
