Bonners Ferry Boy Hurt In Crash

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 15-year-old Bonners Ferry boy was listed in critical condition Monday night after driving a motorcycle into a pickup, according to the Idaho State Police.

Brett L. Farber, who was not wearing a helmet, was airlifted to Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane.

The driver of the pickup, Fred E. Maas, 33, of Bonners Ferry, was not injured in the crash.

The accident happened at 2:38 p.m. on County Road 62D, about eight miles east of Bonners Ferry. Maas was driving north on the road, when Farber drove a motorcycle out of a gravel pit road and turned onto the county road.

Farber failed to yield and struck Maas head-on, the ISP said.

The accident is being investigated.
