Receiver Bound For Trial

Compiled From Wire Services

Missouri receiver Rahsetnu Jenkins was bound over for trial after a judge ruled there was sufficient evidence to show a woman had been raped.

The ruling means Jenkins probably won’t be on the field this season. Tigers coach Larry Smith earlier said it’s team policy to automatically suspend any player accused of a serious offense.

A Cole County judge has granted a temporary restraining order that prevents Smith from enforcing his suspension policy. But the judge cannot order Smith to play Jenkins. Another hearing on that matter is scheduled for today.

Jenkins was charged last month with forcible rape. A 24-year-old woman who is a casual acquaintance of Jenkins alleged he raped her July 13 at her home in Columbia.
