Boys Held In Robbery, Beating Will Face Trial In Adult Court

From Staff And Wire Reports

Two of the boys arrested after the Oct. 21 robbery and beating of a Spokane man will be tried as adults, authorities said.

Kurt Johnson and Ryan W. Seaman, both 16, were arrested on robbery charges shortly after the attack.

Two others have been arrested: Darren R. Fleishour, 19, and a 16-year-old boy who has pleaded guilty to a robbery charge.

John Hintz was leaving a bowling alley and walking home with his mother when they were confronted by four teens near Nevada and Courtland.

Police believe Seaman struck Hintz, who fell to the ground and suffered severe head injuries. The group also robbed Hintz before they fled, police said.

Hintz has been released from Sacred Heart Medical Center and is recovering at his home.
