Savarese Stops Hart In 10th

Unbeaten heavyweight Lou Savarese won his 33rd consecutive fight, stopping Sean Hart of Philadelphia in the second round of their scheduled 10-rounder at Atlantic City, N.J.

In the co-feature, heavyweight Alex Stewart scored a first-round knockout of Terry Anderson.

Savarese, an unranked 6-foot-5, 230-pounder from New York, has won 26 of his fights by knockout and has yet to face a serious challenge.

Wayne McCullough caught up with the elusive Johnny Bredahl in the eighth round and retained his WBC bantamweight title at Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Mildred “Millie” Robinson, widow of boxer Sugar Ray Robinson and executive director of the Sugar Ray Robinson Youth Foundation, died of cancer on Tuesday in Los Angeles. She was 77.
