The Slice Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty

Well, it’s another Monday.

That means it is time once again for an installment in our photo series, “Men with Cats.”

Today’s snapshot features a sleeping Scott Storch and the legally acquired family cougar, Lakota, resting at home in Nine Mile Falls.

That’s Lakota’s blanky.

“After reading your article on Monday about the man and the cat, I had to send you this picture of my husband who also said that he hated cats and would NEVER own one,” wrote Lauri Storch. “Needless to say, this cat is a little different.”

Yes, a little.

Jeff Scott’s big question: “Do any of the potholes we get around here offer good fishing?”

Fill in the blanks: You know someone has overdosed on shopping when….

Rebecca Lind’s post-rental nomination for the worst Christmas movie ever made: “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians,” from 1964.

(If Rebecca was a fan of “Mystery Science Theater 3000” she would have known to avoid that “film.”)

Spokane newscasters, consider yourselves warned: There are people out there monitoring your pronunciation of “Snoqualmie.”

A Slice reader called and said it drives him nuts to hear an extra “a” inserted as a penultimate syllable.

Ruth Morrow wonders: “Is raising speed limits a population control thing?”

Modern life: We were thinking of driving over to Sandpoint recently to see a showing of “It’s a Wonderful Life” at the Panida. Sure, sure, we’ve seen it a million times, too. But never on the big screen.

So we called the theater to confirm the show time and we were told that there had been a change in plans. George Bailey’s big adventure had been replaced with 1994’s “The Santa Clause.”

Sigh.

Warm-up question: Have you ever had an argument with someone over the merits of gingerbread?

Today’s Slice question: Is there someone at your workplace who somehow gets away with spending an incredible amount of time doing personal Christmas-related stuff? , DataTimes ILLUSTRATION: Color photo
