Intuit To Offer Banking On The Internet

Associated Press

Intuit Corp., maker of the popular Quicken financial software, said Monday it will provide on-line banking over the Internet.

The move marks a shift for Intuit, which has concentrated on pushing online banking through the Quicken program, a financial planning system that hooks customer up with their banks through more secure private networks.

The Menlo Park, Calif. company said it is developing a connection for the Internet to expand its online offerings. The connection will enable customers to do routine transactions, such as pay bills and transfer funds, over the Internet without having to use Quicken.
