Central Valley Clothing Bank At New Location

The Valley Center has a new partner: the Central Valley Parent-Teacher-Student Association Council.

The merger will be celebrated today with an open house at 7 p.m. at the Valley Center, 11922 E. First.

The CV council last week moved its clothing bank to the Valley Center.

The CV clothing bank started about 20 years ago, said council member Judy Rigby, with lost and found clothes that languished in schools all around the district, and little by little grew to the point that it serves 15 to 20 families a month.

Until last week, the clothing bank had been located in the district’s administration building - sometimes described as being “on the way to Montana,” because of its out-of-the-way location at the east end of the district.

Council members expect the move will allow more needy families to make use of the clothes.
