Icy Road Leads To Fatal Accident

Compiled From Wire Services

A 50-year-old woman died Thursday morning after her car swerved into an oncoming pickup truck on an icy road east of Spokane near Liberty Lake.

Judith K. Domino of Newman Lake was taken to Valley Hospital and Medical Center, where she died at 6:57 a.m., the Washington State Patrol said.

Her 3-year-old passenger, Tyler R. Domino, was treated and released, a nursing supervisor said.

The driver of the pickup, Walter S. Adams, 37, wasn’t injured.

Judith Domino was driving her 1986 Toyota Camry south on Liberty Lake Road when she missed a curve and turned broadside into the oncoming lane, the state patrol said.

She wasn’t wearing her seat belt, unlike the boy and the other driver, authorities said.

State troopers in the Spokane and Colfax detachments responded to 24 accidents because of slick roads Thursday morning.
