North Alabama linebacker Ronald McKinnon became the first defensive player ever to win the Harlon Hill Trophy as Division II’s player of the year.

McKinnon leads North Alabama’s “Purple Swarm” defense, the top-rated unit in the nation. The Gulf South Conference’s No. 1 career tackler with 596, he became the third palyer to make first-team all-league four straight seasons.
