From Staff And Wire Reports

Stevens County authorities have recovered the body of a woman who disappeared in October.

A forensic examination Thursday of the body of Tina D. Smith, 30, showed her death was a homicide, the Stevens County Sheriff’s Department said. Authorities wouldn’t say how Smith, also known as Tina Mann, was killed.

Smith’s body was found in a remote area in northern Stevens County, the sheriff’s department said Friday.

She was believed to have been killed at a residence on Onion Creek in the north part of the county on Oct. 28.

One man, Ray A. Ellis, 46, is in custody in connection with her death.

Deputies still are seeking three others: John H. Steinkraus, 42, Randall C. Gardner, 37, and Valerie L. Greenfield, 33.
