Valley, valley, bo valley … it’s the name game
Undaunted that Valley voters have turned down 912 proposals to incorporate in the last three years, there’s another pack of lemmings ready to march into the sea. That’s right, another group is pushing incorporation. They’ve decided a name change will help their chances. Sound familiar? It should. Town Marshal Joe McKinnon and his troops tried the same ploy a few years ago after the proposed city of Chief Joseph crashed and burned. What is this Whitewater thing anyway?
A fire-breathing Republican named R.J. called this week to yell at us for overplaying the accusations against Stinker, er, Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and ignoring something called Wiltwater. He demanded that we use our resources to uncover the 40 bodies that Larry Nichols claims Bill Clinton has buried in Arkansas. R.J.’s warped sense of humor so closely resembled our own that we promised him we’d check in to this Wetwater thing. Well, R.J., our investigation is complete and we found that the 40 bodies in Arkansas were, in fact, planted by Newt Gingrich and financed illegally by GOPAC. Honest.
It’s like Kryptonite to Superman
We’ve tried and tried to get Steve Hasson’s attention here at The Hot Seat. But we can’t. He’s like that pink rabbit, he keeps marching through county government beating his drum. But Hasson gave away his secret this week. While commenting on public hearings over Commissioner John Roskelley’s proposal to hike greens fees at county golf courses to pay for park improvements, Hasson said: “I’ll be wearing my asbestos underwear.” So Hasson’s hiney is Hot Seat-proof. But tell us, Steve, boxers or briefs?
