White’s Foul Shots Lift CV Over Walla Walla

Sandra White made a pair of free throws with 2 seconds left Saturday as visiting Central Valley (3-0) beat Walla Walla 60-58 in a non-league game.

CV hit 6 of 6 free throws in the final minute and shot 91 percent for the game. Crystal Lee continued her rampage on Big Nine Conference teams, scoring 24 after pouring in 29 against Kennewick on Friday.

Jill Watkins scored 20 for the Blue Devils.

Carmel Lampson scored 18 and the Braves (3-0) held off the visiting Saxons (3-1) at Kennewick when Ferris missed a pair of late one-and-one attempts.

Ferris trailed by 14 in the second half, but Amy George hit two 3-pointers to lead a rally. Jayme Morrisette’s 3-pointer cut the lead to four, but the Saxons couldn’t hit their free throws. Jennifer Swinton of Ferris had 11 rebounds.
