Late Foul Shots Help Southern Cal Bury Unlv

Associated Press

Brandon Martin sank six free throws in the final 1:11 for Southern California after a costly technical foul by UNLV helped the Trojans hold off the Runnin’ Rebels 82-72 Sunday.

Martin and Stais Boseman each scored 19 points for the Trojans (4-1).

USC led by eight points early in the second half before the Rebels (1-2) cut their deficit to one point seven times. But each time, USC came up with key baskets or free throws to prevent UNLV from taking the lead.

The close game turned on the technical assessed to Warren Rosegreen with 1:11 remaining and the Rebels trailing 75-72.

As USC cleared the ball out after UNLV failed to score, Rosegreen crashed into two Trojans and in the process, he kicked Jaha Wilson.

The technical gave USC two foul shots and possession. Martin converted both shots to put USC ahead 77-72.
