The wait is over for East Valley coach Rich King.

James Spotted Horse scored all 11 of his points in the second half Tuesday as visiting EV (1-3) beat Medical Lake 70-59 for King’s first win in his 24th try.

EV, 0-20 in King’s inaugural year, sealed the win with 7-of-13 shooting in the fourth quarter.

Spotted Horse added seven rebounds. Dan Huston had 13 rebounds and Brandon Moore 12 for Medical Lake (1-2).

Brian Maley’s 26 points and 12 rebounds led the visiting Spartans (4-2) to a come-from-behind win over the Lancers (3-1).

Maley made 7 of 8 from the floor in the first half. Liberty, which made 10 3-pointers, responded in the second half and took a five-point lead with four minutes to play. The Spartans, however, rebounded down the stretch.

Tim Horlacher led the Lancers with eight assists.

The visiting Gorillas (1-0), playing their first game because of the school’s extended football season, scored the final 10 points to beat the Redskins (2-1).

Wellpinit led 52-49 with 2:01 left when high winds caused the lights to go out. When power was restored, Davenport quickly took the lead with free throws. Donnie LeBret of Wellpinit had 10 rebounds.
