Eastern Upset By L-C State At The Buzzer

Jodi Benson’s 3-pointer at the buzzer gave Lewis-Clark State a 49-48 upset victory over Eastern Washington Tuesday at Reese Court.

Benson’s shot came after Eastern freshman Kelly Bartleson nailed a 3-pointer with 8 seconds to play to put sEastern in front 48-46. Warrior guard Amanda Campbell drove the length of the court and fed Benson on the right baseline.

The dramatic finish came after both Eastern (1-4) and L-C State (9-2) spent the second half looking for the basket. Eastern made just 6 of 24 shots (25 percent) while Lewis-Clark State made just 6 of 31 (19 percent).

The Eagles return to Reese Court on Friday to host Washington State.
