Dec. 20 Is Deadline For Property Taxes

Dec. 20 is the last day to pay all or the first half of 1995’s Kootenai County property taxes.

Kootenai County Treasurer Jeanine Ashcraft said after next Wednesday, unpaid taxes will be subject to a 2 percent penalty. Starting Jan. 1, an additional 1 percent monthly interest will be added until the taxes are paid.

The tax payment needs to be postmarked on or before Dec. 20.

Homeowners who have not received a 1995 tax notice should call Ashcraft’s office at 769-4400.
