Spokane Won’t Get Senior Tour Event

Don’t look for a PGA Senior Tour event to supplant the Pro Classic in 1996, event promoter Toby Steward said.

Although invited by the Senior Tour to present a proposal for hosting an event - in light of Seattle canceling its tour stop - promoters in Spokane were unable to land a title sponsor, Steward said.

The Senior Tour was expected to fill that void with a touranment in St. Louis.

“We’re going to continue with the Pro Classic as it’s structured now,” Steward said. “And we’re on-going in our search for a title sponsor (for a Senior Tour event) for ‘97 and ‘98.”
