Wolf-Hybrid Shot After Attacking 3-Year-Old

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Klamath County sheriff’s deputy shot a stray hybrid wolf after it tried to carry off a 3-year-old boy.

Brian Boggs was recuperating today after undergoing surgery Tuesday at a Klamath Falls hospital for puncture wounds to his upper torso, deputies said.

The boy’s grandfather told deputies that the stray animal tried to carry off the child from outside a residence.

The animal fled but returned a short time later and a deputy killed it with a rifle shot.

Area residents said they had seen the animal around Chiloquin the past several months, but authorities haven’t located an owner. The hybrid wolf didn’t have a collar or tags.
