Bones Were Of Person Who Died Naturally

Compiled From Wire Services

Bones found under farm worker housing last week appear to be of a man who died of natural causes.

Chelan County Coroner Jerry Rappe said he found no signs of metal in the bones indicating the person had been shot. There was also no damage on the bones that would suggest the person had suffered injuries.

The bones were discovered last week in a crawl space under a five-unit housing complex at RAM Orchards near Chelan.

Rappe said the bones appear to be those of a small, thin male who was probably at least 35 years old. He said the person probably died at least a year and a half ago.

The bones were found inside a deteriorating sleeping bag, with a pillow under the head, he said.

“The scene investigation shows that this was a person who did not want to be found, who climbed in there, wrapped up in a sleeping bag and went to sleep in the corner,” he said.
