Grandmother, 5 Grandchildren Die In Fire

Five children and their grandmother were killed when a fire tore through their modest home early Thursday as neighbors and firefighters tried to rescue them.

Investigators said they suspect the fire may have started when the structure’s internal wiring malfunctioned.

The children - Tiana Cruz, 13, Anthony Cruz, 6, Lydia Cruz, 3, Terina Gollette, 11, and Angel Gonzales, who was less than a year old - were being tended by Josephina Gonzalez, 69, their grandmother.
