Everett Anderson, St. Maries and Aime Vanderbusse, of Spirt Lake, were both invested with the decoration and rank of Knight Commander of the Court of Honor.

The honors were based on the candidates display of loyalty, devotion, service and knowledge of Freemasonry in general. Recipients were judged on how they distinguished themselves in fields of education, religion and humnanity.

Athol Elementary School was

recently selected as one of 200 grant recipients of the 1995 “Kid’s Growing with Dutch Bulbs” award. The awards are sponsored by the Mailorder Association of Nurseries and the International Flower Bulb Center in Holland.

Grant recipients were selected based on a strong sense of leadership and quality educational curriculum for children in the area of hands-on gardening. The school received more than 250 Dutch flower bulbs, as well as planting tips and classroom activities. After planting the bulbs, the children created a timeline to help them understand the length of growing time and stages.
