Argentina, Cuba Join Search For Guevara

Compiled From Wire Services

Argentine and Cuban experts have joined the search for Che Guevara’s remains.

The search for the Argentine revolutionary and other guerrillas killed in 1967 by Bolivian soldiers has intensified after a grave holding at least three skeletons was found on the outskirts of this tropical town.

Dr. Jorge Gonzalez Perez, director of Cuba’s Institute of Legal Medicine, arrived Friday at the request of families of the slain guerrillas. He brought medical records to confirm the identity of remains of Guevara and 14 slain Cuban guerrillas.

Guevara, an Argentine physician, fought alongside Fidel Castro during Cuba’s revolution, and became that country’s No. 2 leader.
